In furthering our mission to connect fiber artists with opportunities for learning new skills and teaching we are planning to have half and one day workshops. If you have an area of interest for a class, or would like to teach a class, please send inquiries to director @ fiberartscollective.org.

2010 SWFAC Workshops

Beginning Knitting Workshop
August 25, September 1 and 8, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
OR August 26, September 2 and 9, 6-8 p.m.
Instructor: Sandra Jefferies
Cost: $50 (Member)/$60(Nonmember)
Plus $3 materials fee

Class Description
This 3-session workshop will teach the basics of knitting: cast-on knit, purl, bind-off, one or two increases, and one or two decreases. Stockinette, garter, seed stitch and ribbing will also be covbered, while learning all about the most important word in knitting: gauge. If time permits, the student will also be given instruction in seaming knitted pieces together.

Sandra has offered classes in several AZ and NM sites, including Fiber Factory in Mesa, AZ, Florence AZ Community Center, The Common Thread in Silver City NM, Southwest Spinners’ Retreat, and the Bisbee AZ Fiber Arts Guild.
