Many of our members give their time, talent, and resources to make the many facets of the SW Women’s Fiber Arts Collective shine. The Collective would not be able to provide the outreach, classes, and retail outlet with out them. The Volunteer Benefit Program was established in appreciation of these wonderful people.
Thank you for volunteering for SWFAC!
Volunteering at least 72 hours a year in any SWFAC program or activity entitles members to a 25% commission rate on work sold at The Common Thread. Other selling members pay a 35% commission rate. Members selling through our Etsy website pay a commission of 30% regardless of volunteer hours.
All levels of volunteer activity are acknowledged and rewarded at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Event in October of each year.
In addition to volunteering at The Common Thread, our retail space in Silver City, SWFAC has volunteer opportunities in teaching, outreach programs, our annual “Tapestry of Talent” fashion show, merchandising, organizational and computer work, and many other areas. Contact us at info @ fiberartscollective.org for more information.
Please make sure to keep track of all hours you volunteer for SWFAC,
whether it is on or off site. Please report quarterly to the Volunteer
Coordinator. Hours are calculated from October to September.
- Time sheets are available at the office in The Common Thread. Or you
can download a Volunteer Timesheet in MS Excel format here.
(Don't have MS Excel? Check out Google

Be sure to get the numbers into the SWFAC office so that we can enter
